POPPY DAY

This project was inspired by a painting I am working on at present about the first World War, and the
images come from that. The backing paper and decoupage poppies are by Hannah Hay. Quote is from the poem by Wilfred Owen.
I am going to enter it into Haunted Design House Challenge this week... "Alas Poor Yorick", as I think it fits because all the men that died - each would have had people that "knew them well".

  4. Hi! So to answer your questions...the Northern Lights do happen a lot...but you see them best at solar midnight (which is 2am here) and in total darkness. That means that in the summer when we have 20 hours of daylight, you can't see them. Best months are Sept and March, but you can see them other times as well. There is a whole science to it, doing with the magnetic pole of the earth, etc. Pretty cool!

People can't hear them...BUT some have said that they hear a crackle sound! No one has been able to record the "sound" so it might be that some people are more sensitive than others. I cannot hear them.

I am obsessed with them! They are magical...
